After the previous post, I ran across something that said that Peter Max never collaborated with the Beatles. It appears that the video I posted was by the artist (not Max) who did the movie, Yellow Submarine. In fact, that may be a clip from the movie (which I’ve never seen).
Any info you can supply would be appreciated. When I have time, I’ll look up the artist who drew Yellow Submarine and post whatever I find.
If you know and can point me to more info, I would really appreciate it.
Meanwhile it is still a great video and a wonderful example of fun, 1960s art at its best, no matter who drew it.
And Peter Max is still deserves far more credit for his talent and innovation than the critics give him, IMO. I saw a retrospective exhibit of his paintings in 1989 and was just blown away. They were incredibly gorgeous. I felt that I learned a lot about color, painting, and drawing just from looking closely at them up close.
